Find the right panel for your base cabinets
The following filters help you display exactly the panel variants for base cabinets that match your kitchen. The fastest way to get results is to first choose the panel thickness and then set the height and depth.
Filter by height
The height is determined by the carcass height of your base cabinet, including the 15 cm plinth for floor-to-ceiling versions. You can find the exact carcass height in your kitchen purchase contract or on the type plate inside the cabinet carcass.
Filter by depth
The depth indicates how far the panel projects into the room. For end panels, it depends on the depth of your base cabinet; for room panels and front panels, you choose the dimension to suit your island planning.

What are panels for base cabinets?
A panel, also called a side panel in technical terminology, is the visible side piece on a Nobilia base cabinet. It finishes the kitchen run at the end, covers exposed cabinet sides, and frames base cabinets on kitchen islands. Where the carcass would otherwise appear in the room as a raw side wall, the panel appears in the front finish, in the worktop look, or as a deliberate color contrast, turning a technical edge into a design detail.
Three types cover the common installation situations: the end panel frames the end of a base cabinet run, the room-planning panel clads kitchen islands and peninsulas on all sides with decor, and the intermediate panel serves as a spacer element next to appliances such as dishwashers, oven housing units, or undercounter refrigerators. In layouts with a dishwasher at the end of a run, the panel also takes on a stabilizing function and supports the worktop.
For each of these functions, there are two constructions: floor-to-ceiling with integrated floor profile and panel shoe, which conceals the plinth at the side and runs down to the floor, or ending at carcass height so that the plinth panel runs continuously in front of it, creating a floating look. All panels are supplied from the factory in the selected front finish and are installed between the adjacent base cabinets during kitchen assembly.
Which panels fit your base cabinets?
Base cabinet end panels at carcass height
The end panel at carcass height (UWK) frames the end of your base cabinet run and covers the previously exposed cabinet side. Its color and thickness make it a design element: matching the front décor, the worktop, or as a deliberate contrast, thin and understated or thick and framing.
In the carcass-height version, the panel ends at the lower edge of the carcass, while the plinth panel continues underneath without interruption. This creates the floating look of the base cabinets in island layouts and allows robot vacuum cleaners to pass the plinth unobstructed.
With a depth of 58.3 cm, the panel matches the standard carcass depth and is available in three carcass heights and four thicknesses.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 28.8 cm ▪ 36 cm ▪ 43.2 cm ▪ 57.6 cm ▪ 72 cm ▪ 79.2 ▪ 86.4 ▪ 101.4 cm
Depth: 39.2 cm ▪ 50.3 cm ▪ 58.3 cm ▪ 60.3 cm
Base cabinet end panels for floor-to-ceiling plans
The floor-to-ceiling end panel frames the end of your base cabinet run and extends down to the floor. The panel foot gives your kitchen run a stylish finish. Its color and thickness make it a design element: matching the front décor or as a deliberate contrast, thin and understated or thick and framing.
The standard range includes it with a depth of 58.3 cm (UWA) and in the projecting version with 68.3 cm (UWAV), while the Sakura special version comes with 60.3 cm (UWAS). The height is based in each case on the carcass height plus a 15 cm plinth.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 87 cm ▪ 94.2 cm ▪ 100.6 cm ▪ 101.4 cm
Depth: 58.3 cm ▪ 60.3 cm ▪ 68.3 cm
Base cabinet room planning panels at carcass height
The room planning panel at carcass height (UWKR) frames a freestanding island layout in which two rows of base cabinets stand back to back. Both long edges are finished with a décor edge, so the panel shows your kitchen’s front décor on both the visible side and the back.
The panel ends at the lower edge of the carcass, while the plinth continues underneath without interruption. This creates the floating look of the island layout and allows robot vacuum cleaners to pass the plinth unobstructed.
Height and depth can be adjusted variably so that the panel fits stylishly into any room situation: from heights starting at 25 cm up to the Maxi carcass height of 86.4 cm, and in depths from 25 cm to 116.6 cm. This makes it possible not only to dress standard island layouts, but also to realize individual partitions and special formats.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 72.0 cm ▪ 79.2 cm ▪ 86.4 cm
Depth: 62.2 cm ▪ 99.5 cm ▪ 110.6 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Base cabinet room planning panels for floor-to-ceiling plans
The floor-to-ceiling room planning panel (UWR) frames a freestanding island layout and extends the panel all the way to the floor. The plinth disappears completely behind the panel at the side, creating a solid, continuous finish. The edges of the panel are finished with décor on both sides and show your kitchen’s front décor on both the visible side and the back.
Depth and height can be adapted to any island geometry: in depths from 25 cm to 116.6 cm and in heights from 25 cm to 106.4 cm. In addition to the classic double-row island, the UWR also covers narrower peninsulas, freestanding cabinet blocks, and individual room dividers.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 87 cm ▪ 94.2 cm ▪ 101.4 cm
Depth: 62.2 cm ▪ 99.5 cm ▪ 110.6 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Base cabinet lacquer panels at carcass height
The lacquer panel at carcass height (UWKRL) is the room planning panel with a lacquered surface, enabling colors and gloss levels outside the standard front range. Both long edges are lacquered and show the selected lacquer color on both the visible side and the back. If cut to size, the new cut edge is finished with a polymer edge.
The five fixed depths are tailored to the geometry of common island layouts: 61.9 cm for single-sided islands, 80.7 cm for double-sided islands with LINE N (Nobilia’s handleless version) and frame element, as well as 95.5 / 106.6 / 116.6 cm for double-sided islands with different base cabinet depths. Available in three carcass heights and two thicknesses.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm
Height: 72 cm ▪ 79.2 cm ▪ 86.4 cm
Depth: 61.9 cm ▪ 80.7 cm ▪ 95.5 cm ▪ 106.6 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Base cabinet lacquer panels for floor-to-ceiling plans
The floor-to-ceiling lacquer panel (UWRL) is the room planning panel with a lacquered surface that extends down to the floor. The lacquered surface carries the same décor on both long edges, so the back of a freestanding island also shows the lacquer color.
The available depths correspond to the island geometries from the standard range: 61.9 cm for single-sided islands, 80.7 cm for double-sided LINE N islands (the handleless Nobilia version) with frame element, and 95.5 / 106.6 / 116.6 cm for double-sided islands with different cabinet depths. If a depth is shortened individually, the cut edge receives a polymer finish instead of lacquer.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm
Height: 87.0 cm ▪ 94.2 cm ▪ 101.4 cm
Depth: 61.9 cm ▪ 80.7 cm ▪ 95.5 cm ▪ 106.6 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Base cabinet intermediate panels
The intermediate panel (UWZ) covers the exposed side wall of a base cabinet where the carcass is visible from the side but does not extend all the way to the wall. Typical installation situations include a niche, an island layout, or the position next to a dishwasher, undercounter refrigerator, or oven housing cabinet. At 37.2 cm, it covers the front area of the cabinet side where visibility actually occurs. The rear half of the carcass remains hidden between the adjacent cabinets. The intermediate panel is manufactured to carcass height so that the plinth panel runs continuously in front of it. Available in the three carcass heights Standard, XL, and Maxi, as well as in four thicknesses.

Frequently asked questions about base cabinet panels
Nobilia quality – noticeable down to the last detail
Panels shape the look of a kitchen and are exposed daily to looks, touch, and wear. That is exactly why at Nobilia they undergo the same testing procedures as fronts and carcasses: in the company’s own QM testing laboratory, tested for a minimum service life of 15 years. Surface, edge finishing, and precision of fit remain convincing even after years, just like on day one.
The selection is correspondingly versatile: four material thicknesses from 1.0 to 5.0 cm and ten finish groups, from matte decors to premium and perfect matte lacquer, through to Xtra surfaces in authentic natural stone or wood looks. This allows you to coordinate your panel exactly with the front, worktop, and carcass.
As a market leader, Nobilia manufactures exclusively in Germany and is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001, with annual audits by TÜV Rheinland. The RAL quality mark Golden M and the Blue Angel for numerous front ranges prove that quality, safety, and sustainability are not just buzzwords here, but verified standards.
Sustainable panels from responsible production
Panels are a design decision in every kitchen layout and, at Nobilia, also a visible commitment to conserving resources. They are made from three-layer chipboard whose core layer consists of 70 percent recycled wood. The virgin wood used comes 100 percent from PEFC-certified forestry: for every tree felled, a new one grows back.
Short transport routes further support the environmental footprint. 80 percent of suppliers are based in Germany, half of them within a 50-kilometer radius of the production site in Verl. In this way, Nobilia panels combine design freedom with a measurably small CO₂ footprint.
