Nobilia end panels for tall units
A tall-unit end panel covers the visible side of a tall unit at the end of a kitchen run, between two cabinets, or in freestanding island layouts. Depending on the installation situation, you choose an end panel at the end of the run, a room-planning panel for freestanding tall units, or an intermediate panel between two carcasses. All variants are matched to Nobilia tall-unit heights in standard and XL, from 201.6 cm to 223.2 cm, as well as 258 cm for plans with a top cabinet. The thicknesses range from 1 cm to 1.6 cm, 2.5 cm, and 5 cm.
As a certified Nobilia specialist dealer, we deliver the panel direct from the factory in three to five weeks, in your kitchen's selected front finish. Filter now by thickness, height, and depth to find the right tall-unit end panels for you.

Overview of tall-unit panels
What are panels for tall units?
A panel is the visible side piece on a Nobilia tall unit. It finishes the tall-unit run at the end, covers exposed carcass sides, and frames freestanding tall units. Instead of a raw carcass side, the panel shows front decor, a worktop look, or a color contrast.
Three types cover the common installation situations:
The end panel (HWA, HWK) frames the end of a tall-unit run or a single tall unit next to base units.
The room-divider panel (HWR, HWKR) is used on freestanding tall units in island plans or room dividers. Both visible sides are edge-banded.
The intermediate panel (HWZ) separates two tall units or a tall unit from an appliance housing unit with oven, microwave, or refrigerator.
Each type is available in two construction forms. In floor-to-ceiling form, the panel runs down to the floor, with the panel foot forming the floor connection. At carcass height, the panel ends at the lower edge of the carcass, and the plinth trim runs continuously underneath.
Planning notes for end panels for tall units
If your kitchen has a tall unit in standard height, choose the panel in the corresponding standard height. If there is a tall unit in XL height, choose the panel in the corresponding XL height. Standard and XL cabinets each follow their own design line, which runs consistently through all carcass types. The right panel carries this proportion through on the outside.
Carcass heights and matching panel heights:
Standard height 1: 201.6 cm
Standard height 2 / XL height 1: 208.8 cm
Standard height 3 / XL height 2: 216.0 cm
XL height 3: 223.2 cm
For floor-to-ceiling panels, the plinth height is added. Nobilia offers plinth heights of 7, 10, 15, and 20 cm. The panel height is calculated as carcass height plus plinth height minus 8 mm internal profiling of the floor profile. This results in panel heights between 216.6 cm and 238.2 cm. For tall units with a top cabinet, Nobilia manufactures a version with variable height up to 258 cm.
Which panels fit your tall units?
Tall-unit end panels at carcass height
The Nobilia end panel at carcass height (HWK) covers the side of a tall unit from the base of the carcass to the top edge of the carcass. The plinth trim runs underneath the panel, so the tall unit visually sits on the plinth line of the kitchen run.
The typical installation situation is the end of a kitchen run with a tall unit.
The end panel is available in fixed sizes for tall-unit heights of 201.6 cm and 208.8 cm, as well as 216 cm and 223.2 cm. For plans with an overhead cabinet, Nobilia makes a version with variable height up to 258 cm that covers the tall unit and overhead cabinet in one piece without a visible joint.
The thickness determines how prominent the side cladding appears on the carcass. Panels in 1 cm and 1.6 cm create a calm line, while panels in 2.5 cm and 5 cm create a visible side frame.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 201.6 cm ▪ 208.8 cm ▪ 216 cm ▪ 223.2 cm ▪ 258 cm
Depth: 58.3 cm ▪ 60.3 cm
Tall-unit end panels for floor-to-ceiling plans
The Nobilia end panel for floor-to-ceiling plans (HWA, HWAV) covers the side of a tall unit from the top edge of the carcass all the way down to the floor. The floor connection is formed by the included panel foot, eliminating the visible plinth gap on the outside.
The HWA with a depth of 58.3 cm sits flush on tall units in standard depth. The HWAV with a depth of 68.3 cm is designed for forward-projected plans. Available in floor-to-ceiling heights of 216.6 cm, 223.8 cm, 231 cm and 238.2 cm. For plans with an overhead cabinet, Nobilia makes the HWA-258 with variable height between 242.5 and 258 cm, which covers the tall unit and overhead cabinet as a continuous side surface down to the floor.
Dimensions
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 216.6 cm ▪ 223.8 cm ▪ 231 cm ▪ 238.2 cm ▪ 258 cm
Depth: 58.3 cm ▪ 68.3 cm
Tall-unit room-divider panels at carcass height
The Nobilia room-divider panel at carcass height (HWKR, HWKVL) is designed for freestanding tall units in island plans or room dividers. Height and depth can be adjusted to the millimeter: height between 25 cm and 223.2 cm, depth between 25 cm and 116.6 cm. Both visible surfaces are edge-banded because the panel remains visible from both sides. The HWKVL is the lacquered version with an additionally lacquered edge.
The panel ends at the bottom of the cabinet carcass, and the plinth trim runs underneath. This makes the tall unit visually sit on the plinth line and gives it a floating appearance.
Height: 201.6 cm ▪ 208.8 cm ▪ 216 cm ▪ 223.2 cm
Depth: 78 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Tall-unit room-divider panels for floor-to-ceiling plans
The Nobilia room-divider panel for floor-to-ceiling plans (HWR, HWVL) is designed for freestanding tall-unit blocks and island plans. Height and depth can be adjusted to the millimeter: height between 25 cm and 243.2 cm, depth between 25 cm and 116.6 cm. Both visible surfaces are edge-banded because the panel remains visible from both sides. The HWVL is the lacquered version with lacquered edge.
The floor connection is formed by the included panel foot. The panel runs as a continuous side surface from the floor to the top edge of the carcass, giving the tall unit a calm, enclosed appearance.
Height: 216.6 cm ▪ 223.8 cm ▪ 231 cm ▪ 238.2 cm
Depth: 78 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Tall-unit intermediate panels
The Nobilia intermediate panel for tall units (HWZ) sits between two tall units or appliance housing units and visibly separates them from each other. At 37.2 cm deep, it is narrower than the outer panels and ends flush with the front edge of the adjacent carcasses. The plinth trim runs underneath the panel.
The intermediate panel is available in fixed sizes for tall-unit heights of 201.6 cm and 208.8 cm, as well as 216 cm and 223.2 cm.
The thickness determines how pronounced the separation between the cabinets appears. Panels in 1 cm and 1.6 cm create a subtle dividing line, while panels in 2.5 cm and 5 cm clearly separate the two cabinets from each other.

Frequently asked questions about tall-unit panels
Nobilia quality for side panels for tall cabinets
For side panel heights up to 258 cm, Nobilia pays particular attention to panel stability, edge adhesion, and colorfastness, because these properties must prove themselves visibly over years on large exposed surfaces.
For side panels, Nobilia uses a 16 mm thick core material, directly coated on both sides with a melamine resin base and finished with a PP edge on the visible front edges. Nobilia tests durability in its own laboratories for a minimum service life of 15 years, exceeding the requirements of the DIN standard. The quality is documented by the RAL quality mark Golden M (furniture product quality RAL-GZ 430) and certification according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, audited annually by TÜV Rheinland.
Production has taken place exclusively in Germany since 1945. The aluminum panel shoe is included in the price as standard and is not charged separately.
Sustainability
A tall cabinet side panel consists predominantly of 16 mm thick chipboard. At Nobilia, the middle layer of these boards contains up to 70 percent recycled wood from reclaimed sources. For the side panel of a tall cabinet run with a height of 223.2 cm, this means: a large part of the wood used was not newly felled, but had previously already been used in another piece of furniture, a pallet, or an earlier kitchen.
The virgin wood for the two outer layers of the chipboard comes from PEFC-certified forestry. For every tree felled, a new one is replanted. The furniture panels are classified according to DGM emissions label A, and many front programs also carry the Blue Angel label.
Side panels can be replaced as individual components. If a side panel is damaged after years, it can be replaced without interfering with the carcass. Nobilia guarantees the availability of spare parts beyond the statutory warranty period. Production takes place in Germany, and transport packaging is sent for recycling through the disposal partner EKO-PUNKT.
