An end panel is the visible side panel on a Nobilia top cabinet. It closes off the top cabinet run at the end or stands between two top cabinets. Instead of a raw carcass side, the end panel shows a front decor, worktop look, or a color contrast.

Within the range, top cabinet end panels differ by depth and design line:

• Standard top cabinet end panel (AW): With a depth of 37.2 cm, the end panel sits flush with the top cabinet carcass. It is used when the top cabinet should remain visually separate from the base cabinet. This creates an offset of around 21 cm between the end panel and the front edge of the base cabinets.

• Extended top cabinet end panel (AWT): With a depth of 58.3 cm, the end panel aligns with the front edge of the base cabinets. It creates a continuous side line from the plinth to the top edge of the top cabinet. It is used when the kitchen run should appear as a closed block.

• Sakura end panels (AWS, AWST): These end panels belong to the Sakura design line and are 2 cm deeper than the standard end panels in both depths. The difference creates the extended frame look of the Japandi style. The end panel visibly projects beyond the front and, together with the handle trim, forms a surrounding frame.

A side panel is a permanently visible element of the kitchen. It sits on the outer side of the top cabinet and must remain dimensionally stable for years. At Nobilia, top cabinet side panels are made with a direct coating based on melamine resin and a 1.2 mm thick PP edge on the front edge, which is more impact-resistant than paper edges. Production takes place at four German sites under the same quality standards as the cabinet carcases. Certifications such as the RAL quality mark Goldenes M, PEFC, and CARB2 apply to the entire range, including the side panel. Nobilia gives a five-year manufacturer's warranty on every top cabinet side panel.

At Nobilia, top cabinet side panels are made from three-layer chipboard. The middle layer consists almost entirely of recycled wood, so the chipboards contain up to 70 percent recycled material overall. The remaining wood comes from sustainably managed forests and is PEFC-certified. For every tree felled, a new one is replanted. Production at the four Nobilia sites increasingly runs on self-generated solar power. In addition, several Nobilia programs carry the Blue Angel as an official environmental label.
