Nobilia end panels for highboards
A highboard end panel covers the visible side of a highboard at the end of a run or in a freestanding installation. Depending on the situation, you choose an end panel against the wall, a room-planning panel for islands, or an intermediate panel between two cabinets. All variants are matched to the Nobilia carcass heights of 151.2 cm standard and 158.4 cm XL. Thicknesses range from 1 cm to 1.6 cm and 2.5 cm up to 5 cm.
As a certified Nobilia specialist dealer, we deliver the panel directly from the factory in three to five weeks, in your kitchen’s selected front finish.

Highboard end panels at a glance
What are end panels for highboards?
An end panel is the visible side panel on a Nobilia highboard. It finishes the tall cabinet run at the end, covers exposed carcass sides, and frames freestanding highboards. Instead of a raw carcass side, the panel shows a front finish, worktop look, or a color contrast. It is supplied from the factory in your kitchen’s color.
Three types cover the common installation situations:
The end panel (HWA, HWK) frames the end of a tall cabinet run or a single highboard next to base cabinets.
The room-planning panel (HWR, HWKR) is used on freestanding highboards. Both visible sides are edged.
The intermediate panel (HWZ) creates spacing between two highboards or between a highboard and an appliance housing cabinet with an oven or microwave. This prevents front-to-front transitions.
Each type comes in two constructions. In the floor-to-ceiling version, the panel runs down next to the plinth to the floor and replaces the plinth panel there. The floor connection is formed by the included floor profile or the panel shoe. At carcass height, the panel ends at plinth level, and the plinth panel runs continuously along in front of it.
All panels come from the factory in the selected front finish and are installed between the tall cabinets during kitchen assembly.

Which end panels fit your highboards?
Highboard end panels at carcass height
The HWK creates a side finish for your highboard run at carcass height. The plinth panel runs continuously beneath the panel, creating a floating look and keeping the plinth line of your kitchen uninterrupted.
As a visible surface on the highboard, the panel frames the cabinet and sets your design accent: matching the front finish for a harmonious overall appearance or as a deliberate color and material contrast. Available in high gloss, matt, lacquer laminate, and other finishes from the Nobilia collection.
In fixed dimensions for highboards, with a depth of 58.3 cm and height of 151.2 cm (standard) or 158.4 cm (XL). The thickness determines the panel’s presence: HWK10 for a subtle line, HWK16 as the common choice, HWK25 and HWK50 for a clearly visible frame.
Dimensions:
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 115.2 cm ▪ 151.2 cm ▪ 158.4 cm
Depth: 39.2 cm ▪ 58.3 cm ▪ 60.3 cm
Highboard end panels for floor-to-ceiling designs
The floor-to-ceiling end panel (HWA) from Nobilia creates a solid, continuous finish for your highboard – from the upper edge of the carcass down to the floor. The key difference from the carcass-height variant: instead of ending on a plinth, the HWA visually continues the side panel down to the floor, giving it a much calmer, higher-quality look.
This is made possible by the included panel shoe, a floor profile that holds the panel neatly at the floor. It provides additional stability and creates a stylish transition. Visible plinth joints on the side are eliminated, making the highboard appear as if cast from a single piece.
Dimensions:
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 166.2 cm ▪ 173.4 cm
Depth: 58.3 cm ▪ 60.3 cm ▪ 68.3 cm
Highboard room-planning panels at carcass height
Room-planning panels are used in custom layouts where standard dimensions do not fit. The HWKR is the carcass-height variant for highboards in island layouts, room dividers, and open niches.
Height and depth can be adjusted to the respective layout with millimeter precision. Depth between 25 and 116.6 cm, height between 25 and 158.4 cm. Both visible surfaces are edged because the cabinet remains visible from both sides.
The thickness depends on the desired presence. HWKR10 creates a slim line on the carcass, HWKR16 is the most common choice, and HWKR25 and HWKR50 create a visible side frame.
Dimensions:
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 151.2 cm ▪ 158.4 cm
Depth: 78 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Highboard room-planning panels for floor-to-ceiling designs
The HWR is the floor-to-ceiling variant for freestanding highboards, where the side surface continues down to the floor instead of ending at the plinth. The floor connection is formed by the included panel shoe in a stainless steel look.
As with the HWKR, height and depth can be adjusted to the layout with millimeter precision. Depth between 25 and 116.6 cm, height between 25 and 173.4 cm, both visible surfaces edged.
In terms of thickness, HWR10 and HWR16 remain understated on the carcass, while HWR25 and HWR50 create a substantial side frame.
Dimensions:
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 166.2 cm ▪ 173.4 cm
Depth: 78 cm ▪ 116.6 cm
Highboard intermediate panels
The HWZ sits between two cabinets, not at the side end. A typical use is separation between appliance housings such as oven and refrigerator housings, or between highboards with changing fronts.
At 37.2 cm, the panel is shallower than the outer panels and extends flush to the front edge of the adjacent carcasses. The plinth panel runs underneath the panel.
HWZ10 keeps the separation subtle, HWZ16 is the common choice, and HWZ25 and HWZ50 clearly distinguish the two cabinets from one another.
Dimensions:
Thickness: 1 cm ▪ 1.6 cm ▪ 2.5 cm ▪ 5 cm
Height: 151.2 cm ▪ 158.4 cm
Depth: 37.2 cm

Nobilia quality for sideboard side panels
A sideboard side panel is visible over the entire carcass height. Standard sideboards have a carcass height of 151.2 cm, XL versions 158.4 cm. Over the years, warping of the panel and swelling at the edge become visible on this surface. Nobilia therefore tests panel stability, edge sealing and color fastness in its in-house QM testing laboratory, with a test duration corresponding to a minimum service life of 15 years.
Nobilia has manufactured exclusively in Germany since 1945 and is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, with annual audits by TÜV Rheinland. The RAL quality mark Goldenes M documents compliance with the RAL-GZ 430 quality standards, and the Blue Angel applies to many front ranges and verifies reduced pollutant emissions in living spaces.
Sustainability at Nobilia
A sideboard side panel consists predominantly of engineered wood. Nobilia sources this from PEFC-certified forests managed according to sustainable forestry standards. The engineered wood materials comply with the limits of CARB2 (California Air Resources Board), TSCA Title VI and the Japanese F-Four-Star standard, so formaldehyde emissions in living spaces remain below the strictest international requirements. The DGM emissions label according to RAL-GZ 437 confirms the highest emissions class A.
For lacquered sideboard side panels from the premium matt line, Nobilia dispenses with virgin fibers and manufactures the fronts to be fully recyclable. This allows you to choose a side panel whose material can be recycled at the end of its service life. Production takes place at four sites in Germany with in-house power generation, optimized route planning in goods transport and recyclable packaging.
Over a service life of 15 years, the tested durability significantly reduces resource consumption per year.
