Nobilia Cover Panels - 10 mm Thickness
Cover panels in 10 mm thickness are the thinnest component variant in the cover panel range and finish highboards, sideboards, and tall cabinet runs with a slim material edge on top. Three designs cover most layouts, ranging from coated with a polymer edge to lacquered on both sides and real wood veneer with a veneered edge. Four depth classes between 37.4 and 117 cm as well as widths from 45.3 to 258 cm provide the dimensions ex works from Verl.

Find a cover panel in 10 mm thickness
Depth and width determine which 10 mm thick cover panel fits your installation situation. The depth follows the carcass depth of your cabinet, while the width follows its carcass width plus the allowance for the side panels.
Filter by depth
The depth of your cover panel follows the carcass depth of the cabinet. 37.4 cm fits shallow sideboards and bathroom side units, 48.5 cm fits freestanding furniture and highboards from the real wood veneer range. 58.5 cm is the delivery standard for tall cabinets and highboards. 117 cm covers projected layouts and islands with double carcass depth.
Filter by width
The width of your cover panel follows the cabinet carcass width. 47 cm and 60 to 65 cm fit dishwasher conversion cabinets. 92 cm, 122 cm, 152 cm and 182 cm cover individual and multi-unit highboard runs. The coated standard panel is cut to the exact centimeter from 25 to 258 cm.

What are cover panels in 10 mm thickness?
A cover panel in 10 mm thickness is a horizontal component that forms the upper finish of tall cabinets, highboards, and sideboards. It sits on the top edges of the cabinets and closes off a run that would otherwise be open without this panel, because highboards and sideboards are often supplied from the factory without a fixed top panel. Unlike a worktop, it does not bear loads from a cooktop or sink. Unlike a front trim panel, it sits horizontally, not vertically.
Cover panels in this thickness are the slimmest variant in the range and lie like a fine material edge over the cabinet run, giving the upper line a visually light finish. Available lengths range from 25 cm to 258 cm per continuous piece, coated on both sides with a polymer edge on the front and side edge. For dishwasher conversion units, fixed widths from 45.3 to 62 cm are available; highboard widths go up to 240 cm. A cutout for a ventilation grille is not permitted in this thickness because the material is too thin for the supporting function of the grille support.
Which cover panels fit your cabinets?
Cover panels in 10 mm thickness are available in three material groups. Laminate is coated and offers the largest decor selection, lacquer comes in matte and high-gloss tones, and real wood veneer shows visible wood grain. Many cover panels are available in front colors, as well as in worktop decors and carcass colors, so you can match the cover panel to the surface it should coordinate with in your kitchen. Within each material group, the cover panels are then organized by the cabinet types they are made for.
Laminate cover panels
Laminate cover panels have a coating on both sides and are finished at the front and sides with a polymer edge. This variant matches the largest number of front decors and is the obvious choice if your cover panel is intended to create a clean top finish for a continuous cabinet run of wall cabinets, sideboards, highboards, and tall cabinets.
For highboards & tall cabinets
The fixed-dimension cover panel finishes the top side of a dishwasher conversion unit, highboard, or tall cabinet in a 45 cm or 60 cm carcass width. The fixed width matches the standard carcass exactly, while you can choose the depth variably between 58.5 and 60 cm to match the carcass depth of your furniture. The panel is coated on both sides and has a polymer edge in carcass color at the front and sides, known in technical terms as a PP edge.
To match your installation situation, choose:
ADBM1047 in 47 cm width for the dishwasher conversion unit with 45 cm carcass width
ADBM1060 in 60 cm width for a highboard or tall cabinet with 60 cm carcass width
ADBM1062 in 62 cm width for the dishwasher conversion units with 60 cm carcass width

Lacquer cover panels
Lacquer cover panels are lacquered on both sides and finished at the front and sides with a lacquered edge. You choose this variant when your fronts are lacquered and the cover panel should match in color. It is manufactured in fixed widths for individual highboards and multi-unit highboard runs, as well as for tall cabinets and sideboards.
For highboards, tall cabinets & sideboards
In four fixed widths from 92.4 to 182.4 cm, the lacquer cover panel provides a color-matched top finish for sideboards, highboards, and tall cabinets. The depth, on the other hand, is selected to the exact centimeter between 25 and 60 cm, because the rear edge faces the wall and does not need a lacquered visible edge. This allows the panel to fit both a shallow and a deep carcass, as long as its width matches one of the four values.
Dimensions:
Widths: 92.4 cm ▪ 122.4 cm ▪ 152.4 cm ▪ 182.4 cm
Depths: Variable from 25 cm to 60 cm
Thickness: 1 cm
For wall cabinets and sideboards
In three narrower widths from 32.4 to 62.4 cm, the lacquer cover panel finishes wall cabinets and shallow sideboards. Unlike the wide cover panels for highboards and tall cabinets, the depth here is fixed at 37.4 cm, because a wall cabinet sits shallow against the wall and does not need a deep panel. At the largest width of 62.4 cm, a deeper panel is also available as the cover panel for tall cabinets.
Dimensions:
Width: 34.2 cm ▪ 52.4 cm ▪ 62.4 cm
Depth: 25 cm to 37.4 cm
Thickness: 1 cm
For tall cabinets and highboards
At 62.4 cm width, the ADBML1062 lacquer cover panel finishes tall cabinets and highboards. The depth ranges between 58.5 and 60.0 cm because a tall cabinet stands deeper than a wall cabinet and the panel covers the carcass across its full depth. In width, ADBML1062 overlaps with the shallow cover panel for wall cabinets—both measure 62.4 cm—but the depth distinguishes them. A shallow carcass with a depth of 37.4 cm requires the wall cabinet cover panel; a tall cabinet or highboard with full depth requires the ADBML1062.

Real wood veneer cover panels
Cover panels in real wood veneer feature genuine wood veneer and thus bring a visible grain to the cabinet run. This variant suits highboards and freestanding furniture whose fronts also have a wood look.
Cover panel in real wood veneer
The cover panel in real wood veneer finishes sideboards, highboards, and freestanding furniture in matching material and color in Native Oak. The panel is covered on both sides with brushed oak veneer, with the grain direction running horizontally. At the front and sides, it has a 2 mm thick veneered edge. Nobilia's real wood veneer range covers kitchen, dining room, and living room. Sideboards, highboards, tall cabinets, and matching tables are available in the same Native Oak assortment, allowing you to plan adjacent rooms in matching material and color.

How to plan your 10 mm thick cover panel
The right size for your cabinet
The depth of your cover panel is based on the carcass depth of your cabinet plus a 2.4 cm allowance. This addition gives the panel a flush finishing edge at the front and closes it off against the wall at the back. This means a sideboard with a carcass depth of 35 cm results in the standard delivery depth of 37.4 cm, and a highboard with a carcass depth of 56.1 cm results in a depth of 58.5 cm. In real wood veneer, there is also 48.5 cm for freestanding furniture with a carcass depth of 46.1 cm.
The width follows the carcass width plus the allowance for the side end panels. A highboard with a carcass width of 90 cm results in a cover panel width of 92.4 cm, because the addition covers the transition to the end panels on the left and right of the outer carcass edge. The coated standard variant is available in lengths from 25 to 258 cm, so one continuous panel can cover several carcass widths in a cabinet run in a single piece.
Material, edge and cut
All three material variants share a common wood-based core panel and differ in the surface and the edge. The coated variant has laminate on both sides and a polymer edge at the front and sides in carcass color. The lacquered variant is lacquered on both sides and has a lacquered edge in front color. The real wood veneer variant is veneered on both sides with oak veneer in a horizontal grain direction and has a 2 mm thick veneered edge at the front and sides.
The type of edge determines which dimension can be adjusted. The coated variant is factory-cut in length to the exact centimeter between 25 and 258 cm. The lacquered cover panel comes in five standard widths and can be shortened in width, although the cut edge will then have a polymer edge instead of the lacquered edge in front color. The depth is factory-cut to the exact size in all three variants. One continuous panel covers a multi-unit highboard run without a joint seam.
Planning limits in 10 mm thickness
A corner joint using tongue and groove is not available in 10 mm thickness because the material thickness of the panel is too small for routing the joint. For a continuous corner layout, choose the cover panel in 16 mm or 25 mm thickness. A wall cabinet underside with recessed LED spots is also not possible in 10 mm thickness because the routing depth for the LED modules structurally starts only from 16 mm. For an illuminated underside, the solution is the 16 mm thick cover panel.
Corner joint and LED underside from 16 mm thickness
A corner joint using tongue and groove and an illuminated wall cabinet underside are possible with cover panels from 16 mm thickness, because the panel has enough material thickness there for the routing. The 16 mm thick cover panel accommodates the corner joint and supports an underside with recessed LED spots. The 25 mm thick cover panel also accommodates the corner joint and, due to its greater thickness, presents a more substantial panel edge.
Installation
Two workshop videos show cover panel installation in practice.
Highboard installation with cover panel: The video guides you through two workshop steps. First, the cut-out for the LGADB ventilation grille. Second, mounting the cover panel onto the highboard carcass.
Worktop joint with tongue and groove: The video shows the tongue-and-groove joint on two worktops. Production uses the same principle for corner cover panel planning.

About the manufacturer Nobilia
About Nobilia
Nobilia delivers around half of its kitchens to customers in Germany, with another roughly 30 percent going to neighboring European countries. Behind this reach is a manufacturer that trains its skilled workers in-house. More than 120 young people learn a profession at Nobilia, including in dual-study wood technology programs. In this way, knowledge of the material wood, from which your cover panel is also made, grows within the company itself.
Nobilia quality for cover panels
The quality of a cover panel is decided by two points that you notice in everyday use. The coating must remain colorfast and lightfast, even when daylight falls on the top side for years, and the core panel must remain dimensionally stable in changing kitchen air. Nobilia tests both in its own QM test laboratory, including the lightfastness of the surface. Added to this is a trust factor you do not see but use every day: the panels carry the DGM emissions label in the highest class A and are tested according to the CARB2 standard for very low formaldehyde emissions. Our quality page describes in detail which exposure each test simulates.
Sustainability of Nobilia cover panels
The core panel of your cover panel is made of wood, and at Nobilia the origin of this wood is documented. Nobilia is certified according to the PEFC standard, which confirms that a new tree is replanted for every tree felled. The chipboard itself consists of up to 70 percent recycled wood, because its middle layer is made almost entirely from reclaimed wood. Added to this is the short supply chain: around 80 percent of Nobilia’s suppliers are based in Germany, about half within a 50-kilometer radius of the company headquarters in Verl. Our page on Nobilia sustainability describes which steps are involved from the forest to the finished component.
Find the right cover panel in 10 mm thickness
The decision for a 10 mm thick cover panel works along two axes, which you can set directly in the filter above. Depth follows the carcass depth of your cabinet, from 37.4 cm for sideboards to 58.5 cm as the delivery standard for tall cabinets and highboards, up to 117 cm for islands. Width follows the design, from the variable standard length up to 258 cm, via three fixed dishwasher conversion widths, to the nine fixed highboard widths in lacquer or Native Oak. The sequence is: first set the depth, then the width narrows the selection further.
