Nobilia cover panels - 25 mm thickness
Cover panels in 25 mm thickness are the middle of four thickness classes in the Nobilia range and finish tall cabinets, highboards, and sideboards at the top with a clearly visible material edge. This places the thickness between the 50 mm panel and the slim 10 mm and 16 mm options. Nobilia manufactures the 25 mm thickness exclusively in laminate, in three depths and two sizing logics for individual tall cabinets or continuous cabinet runs.

Find a cover panel in 25 mm thickness
Depth and width determine which 25 mm cover panel fits your installation situation. The depth follows your cabinet's carcass depth, and the width follows its carcass width plus the allowance for the side end panels.
Filter by depth
The depth of your cover panel follows the cabinet's carcass depth. 37.4 cm fits shallow sideboards, wall cabinets, and bathroom add-on furniture. 58.5 cm is the standard supplied depth for tall cabinets and highboards. 117 cm covers forward-projected plans and islands with double carcass depth.
Filter by width
The width of your cover panel follows the cabinet's carcass width. 50 cm fits narrow tall cabinets and highboards. 60 cm matches the classic carcass width of pull-out larder units, pantry cabinets, and oven housing units. 65 cm applies to dishwasher housing units because the 60 cm carcass width is increased by the end panel allowance on both sides. The coated standard panel is cut to the exact centimeter from 25 to 258 cm.

Overview of cover panels in 2.5 cm thickness
What are cover panels in 25 mm thickness?
Cover panels in 25 mm thickness are coated laminate panels that finish the top of a tall cabinet, a highboard, or a freestanding cabinet block where no worktop is placed. They are a visible carcass add-on part with their own material edge and form the upper finish of the carcass. They do not support a worktop and are not designed as a load-bearing kitchen run.
The 25 mm thickness creates a 2.5 cm high visible edge at the top of the cabinet. This places it between the thinner 10 mm and 16 mm options and the thicker 50 mm block, making the upper cabinet finish perceptible as its own line without visually dominating.
At Nobilia, the substrate material for the 25 mm thickness is exclusively laminate. Lacquered cover panels are only available in 10 mm and 16 mm, and real wood veneer only in 10 mm. The decor selection in 25 mm thickness is divided into three finish classes: matte, high gloss, and Xtra decors.
Which cover panels fit your cabinets?
Which cover panel fits your plan depends on your cabinet dimensions. For carcass depths of 37.4 cm, 58.5 cm, and 117 cm, you use a cover panel in a fixed depth whose width is cut to the exact centimeter. For tall cabinets and highboards with a carcass depth of 58.8 cm, the cover panel in fixed dimensions is suitable, with three standard widths from the factory.
Cover panel for sideboards, highboards, and tall cabinets
The cover panel in a fixed depth finishes the top of a sideboard, highboard, or tall cabinet with a variable carcass width. You choose the depth from one of three classes to match the furniture's carcass depth. The width between 25 and 258 cm is cut to the exact centimeter. This allows you to cover individual cabinets including end panel allowance or several cabinets next to each other as one continuous line. The panel is coated on both sides and has a polymer edge in carcass color on the front and sides.

Cover panel for highboards and tall cabinets
The cover panel in fixed dimensions finishes the top of a highboard or tall cabinet in one of three standard widths. 50 cm and 60 cm fit directly to the cabinet's carcass width. 65 cm finishes the dishwasher housing unit with a 60 cm carcass including end panel allowance on both sides. At 58.8 cm, the depth follows the standard carcass depth of tall cabinets and highboards. The panel is coated on both sides and has a polymer edge in carcass color on the front and sides.

How to plan your 25 mm cover panel
The 25 mm thickness comes with four planning points that you should clarify before ordering. They concern the material and decor classes, the sizing logic for the dishwasher housing unit, the corner joint with tongue and groove, and factory-made special machining on the cover panel.
Which decors are available in 25 mm
In the Nobilia range, the 25 mm thickness is available exclusively on laminate-core panels in three decor classes: matte, high-gloss, and Xtra decors. Lacquer classes, lacquer laminate, premium matte lacquer, country-style decors, and real wood veneer are not available in 25 mm and are only offered in 10 mm or 16 mm. If you have planned a front in a lacquer class or in real wood veneer and want the cover panel in the same decor, you need to switch to the slimmer 10 mm or 16 mm thickness.
Which fixed width fits which dishwasher conversion unit
Preconfigured cover panels in 25 mm thickness come in three standard widths, two of which cover dishwasher conversion unit dimensions. The 50 cm wide panel fits the dishwasher conversion unit with a 45 cm carcass width, while the 65 cm wide panel fits the dishwasher conversion unit with a 60 cm carcass width. In both cases, an additional 5 cm side panel allowance is added to the pure carcass width. The 60 cm wide panel comes without a side panel allowance and fits directly on a standard highboard or tall cabinet with a 60 cm carcass width.
Adjustments to the cover panel
When ordering, factory-made adjustments can be configured for the cover panel to match the planning situation.
Bevel or rounding of the outer edge
A bevel or rounding on the outer edge of the cover panel is used when the cabinet does not meet a wall or an adjacent furniture run at a right angle. The machining is finished at the front and sides with a polymer edge in carcass color. For right-angled outer corners, the edge remains square as standard; for right-angled inner corners and non-standard angles, an inner radius of 30 mm is used.
Z-shaped bevel or notch
A Z-shaped bevel or a notch adapts the cover panel to a wall projection, a routed heating pipe, or a support column. The machining is finished at the front and sides with a polymer edge and retains a lateral overhang of 1.5 mm beyond the carcass edge. For right-angled inner corners and non-standard angles, an inner radius of 30 mm is also used here.
Additional rear edge banding
Additional edge banding on the rear side of the cover panel becomes relevant when the cabinet is planned as freestanding in an island or as a room divider and the rear edge remains visible. The polymer edge in carcass color is then also applied at the back and encloses the panel all around. When ordering, a minimum purchase of 60 cm edge length applies.
Corner joint with tongue and groove
For corner connections between two cover panels, such as over two tall cabinets at an angle or in an island layout, a tongue-and-groove joint is available as a factory configuration. This joint is configured for a thickness of 25 mm and comes with screw fitting, tongue, and waterproof glue. When ordering, an additional 5 mm size allowance is added and charged accordingly.

Delivery and advice
We deliver directly from the Verl factory, usually three to five weeks after ordering. Shipping within Germany is free of charge. Transport is handled by Nobilia with its own fleet. Delivery reliability is 97.7 percent and the misdelivery rate is 0.1 percent because every item is scanned during loading and unloading.
The cover panel arrives factory-cut in the ordered depth, width, and edge configuration. As a long part, it is wrapped in polyethylene protective film as part of the Nobilia packaging concept. Corrugated cardboard protects the cabinet packages, polyethylene film protects the long parts, and a plastic strapping band secures the shipment. Around 98 percent of these materials are recyclable.
On site, you mount the panel on the top edge of the cabinet and secure it according to the manufacturer's specifications. If you do not want to or cannot install it yourself, we can connect you with an installation partner in your region. Contact us before ordering so we can plan the logistics right away.
Advice is provided by phone or email. You speak directly with a Nobilia specialist consultant from our team, not a call center, not an AI assistant, and not a pre-written script.
About the manufacturer Nobilia
About Nobilia
Nobilia is a manufacturer of kitchen furniture based in Germany and one of the largest kitchen furniture manufacturers in Europe. Four factories in Verl, Gütersloh, and Saarlouis produce around 855,000 pieces of furniture annually, exclusively at German sites. Each piece of furniture is manufactured individually for the order in highly automated series production. The particle boards meet the highest level of low formaldehyde emissions according to CARB2. The furniture comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty from Nobilia.
Nobilia quality for cover panels
The quality of a cover panel is determined by the coating, the material quality of the substrate, and dimensional accuracy during cutting. Nobilia manufactures cover panels at its Verl plant, which is certified to ISO 9001 for quality management. The particle board structure is three-layered; the top and bottom surface layers consist of fresh wood because that is where the decorative coating is applied. The laminate surface is laminated on both sides and durable in everyday use. The polymer edge is machine-applied and color-matched to the carcass. Cutting is carried out at the factory to the exact centimeter.
Sustainability of Nobilia cover panels
Nobilia uses wood in a cascading way: first as solid wood, then in particle boards, and finally for energy recovery. The core layer of the cover panel's substrate board consists predominantly of recycled wood, so each panel contains a high proportion of recycled material. The Nobilia packaging concept follows the principle of using as little packaging as possible and is around 98 percent recyclable. Nobilia is certified to ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management. Over the last three years, more than 10 million kilowatt-hours of energy have been saved across the factory network.
Find the right cover panel in 25 mm thickness
The decision for the right cover panel is based on two dimensions that you can set directly in the filter above. The depth follows the carcass depth of your cabinet, from 37.4 cm for shallow sideboards to 58.5 cm for tall cabinets and highboards, up to 117 cm for projected layouts and islands. The width is available either as a fixed size of 50 cm, 60 cm, or 65 cm for individual tall cabinets and dishwasher conversion units, or as a custom cut between 25 and 258 cm for special sizes and cabinet runs. A proven approach is to set the depth first.
