Nobilia base cabinets with door
Plenty of storage, a calm front appearance, easy to plan. Door cabinets are the sturdy base beneath the countertop and work in any kitchen run. With a continuous door front, the kitchen looks minimalist. With a pinned door front, the line layout stays aligned to the grid even if you combine door cabinets with drawer and pull-out cabinets. Door cabinets with a drawer give you quick access at the top and space behind doors below. For special solutions, there are variants for attached tables and diagonally planned corners.
You choose the height, width, and depth to suit the room, including reduced side depth or custom depth. The interior can be upgraded later, for example with internal drawers or design shelves such as Taro.

Countertop of your choice
Important for planning: Nobilia base cabinets do not have a fixed top cover. They are designed this way because the countertop forms the top finish. You can therefore buy the cabinets with or without a countertop and choose the surface to match your style.
Door cabinets with continuous door front
Door cabinets are the structurally simplest cabinet class among Nobilia base cabinets because they do not require pull-out mechanics. A hinged door, a 2.8 mm thick HDF back panel, and one or two height-adjustable shelves depending on cabinet height are enough to hold provisions, larger dishes, or kitchen utensils. The shelves are 16 mm thick and support up to 50 kg per square meter, while the all-metal shelf supports secure them with a safety pin to prevent slipping. The hinged door closes with the Sensys hinge from Hettich, tested in at least 80,000 test cycles. Anyone who needs more organization later can retrofit the ITAB-UH 60 internal pull-out shelf with insertion lock without replacing the cabinet body.

When it comes to dimensions, you have complete freedom. You choose the height, width, and depth so the base cabinet fits the room, worktop, and intended use. Inside, you can refine it step by step. Internal drawers and Taro design shelves can be retrofitted. This lets you build your kitchen in a practical way.
From 80 cm onwards, the door cabinet is double-door. This makes opening and closing noticeably easier. Thanks to the standard soft-close hinges, the doors operate in a controlled, quiet, and convenient way in everyday use.

Door cabinets as base cabinets are the strong foundation for a Nobilia kitchen with a clean look and plenty of storage space. Behind doors, you can conveniently store pots, provisions, and larger items. The continuous front looks calm and modern. In variants with a pinned door front, the line layout stays neatly aligned to the grid even when you combine door cabinets with drawer and pull-out cabinets. This creates a harmonious overall appearance across the entire run. If you want more convenience later, the interior can be specifically enhanced with internal drawers.

Door cabinets with drawer
Door cabinets with a drawer bring structure to your kitchen organization. Cutlery and cooking utensils are kept within easy reach in the top drawer. Below, behind the door, there is space for pots, pans, and bowls. This lets you use the storage space logically and efficiently in everyday life.
The drawer is equipped with the nBOX. Slim sides, a clean cubic look, slate gray inside. It looks high-quality and visually matches pull-outs and internal drawers in the same system. For an individual detail, you can choose the sides in Sierra Oak reproduction, Anthracite Metallic, Bronze Metallic, or Milano Walnut.
From 80 cm width, the cabinet is double-door and comes with 2 drawers. The doors close with soft-close. Mechanical opening support (PTOSA) can be retrofitted for drawers. This keeps operation quiet, convenient, and practical for everyday use. Accessories such as cutlery inserts, Taro design shelf supports, liner mats, and the Detroit cabinet interior light provide lasting convenience.

Dimensions and planning
To help you filter correctly in the product grid, height, width & depth are the key factors.
Nobilia door cabinets are available in fixed heights: 72 cm (standard), 79.2 cm (XL), 86.4 cm (Maxi).
For some cabinets, Nobilia offers the mini height 36 cm (-36), mini height 43 cm (-43) & mini height 57.6 cm (-58).
This way, the cabinet matches your desired working height and the kitchen’s line layout.
Tip: note that cabinet height + plinth height + countertop thickness determine the working height.
Custom size adjustments:
For many door cabinets, adjustment to a side depth of 46.1 cm is possible at the same price. Additional depth reductions as well as height and width reductions are available as custom dimensions depending on the version and usually involve an extra charge. This allows you to adapt the cabinet neatly even when the niche is tight or connections need to be taken into account.

Plinth heights
Plinth feet are available in the standard heights: 2 cm, 7 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm
With the 2026 collection, there is a particularly low plinth option. This allows base cabinets to be planned more precisely for very low plinth heights – interesting if you want to use Nobilia front and cabinet body colors consistently in other rooms as well.

Door cabinet or drawer cabinet: which is a better fit?
Both options provide enclosed storage space beneath the countertop. What matters is how you want to use your kitchen: start budget-consciously and upgrade later, or have convenience from the very beginning.
Door cabinets
Door cabinets are the attractively priced entry into Nobilia quality. You get plenty of storage space for pots, pans, and provisions and can divide the interior flexibly with shelves. If you want more organization later, you can add internal drawers to many variants and expand the cabinet step by step.
Drawer cabinets
Drawer cabinets provide structure from the factory. Small items are clearly arranged in the drawer, while larger kitchen utensils are neatly sorted in pull-outs. This keeps everyday cooking clear and efficiently organized.
Strong value for money
Door cabinets are often the most affordable way to buy a high-quality Nobilia base cabinet. You invest in the solid foundation of cabinet body, fittings, and clean workmanship – and then decide how much equipment you really need.
Quality remains consistent: even in lower price groups, production is precise. Differences arise mainly from front material, appearance, and features.
Soft-close comes as standard. Cushioned hinges close quietly and in a controlled way. This protects fronts and cabinet bodies and makes a positive difference every day.
Door cabinets on kitchen islands
Door cabinets are often used to equip the back side of a kitchen island with additional storage at low cost. Push-to-open is especially popular here instead of a handle: the front remains calm, nothing protrudes, and the doors can be opened conveniently with a press. This is ideal when the island side is visible from the room and you want a tidy, handleless look.

Upgrade instead of buying new
Door cabinets are a strong foundation because you can expand them step by step whenever needed. Many versions can later be supplemented with internal drawers (including nBox) – ideal if you want to start on a budget and add more organization later.
nBox interior for retrofitting
Do you want to start affordably but add more convenience later? Many door cabinets can be upgraded afterwards with internal drawers. This keeps the exterior front look calm and clean – while inside you get organization on drawer level.
The internal drawers are available in the nBOX design: slim drawer sides, concealed undermount runners, and a high-quality look inside the cabinet. Depending on your style, you can further customize the pull-outs with design profiles and covers – even later on.
Buy hinges & installation accessories
If a door no longer closes properly, rubs, or the damping weakens, replacement is often the fastest solution. Choose the appropriate opening angle and add the mounting plate if needed so the door alignment and gap dimensions are correct again. Retrofit with Push to Open!
Door cabinets are the most affordable base – and that’s exactly why retrofitting is worth it:
With a mechanical opening support, you can later open handleless doors conveniently with a push. A light press on the front is enough and the door springs open – ideal for island backs and calm room-facing sides (PTO5 / PTO5-BS).

Cabinet interior & features
Door cabinets look calm on the outside – inside, they should be practical. Shelves can be repositioned flexibly and remain reliable even under daily load. High-quality shelf supports ensure that dishes, provisions, and kitchen utensils stand securely.
For greater convenience, you can specifically enhance the interior: with design shelf holders such as Taro, even an open cabinet looks tidy. And if you want to find what you are looking for more quickly, an LED cabinet interior light such as Detroit helps – especially practical in dark corners or on the back side of islands.
Safety for freestanding door cabinets
Are you planning a freestanding door cabinet – for example as the back of an island or as a sideboard? Then an anti-tip device is essential. It stabilizes the cabinet when doors are open or when the inside is heavily loaded, providing reassurance in everyday use – especially with children around.
Rule of thumb: up to 1.8 meters of kitchen run, 2 anti-tip devices are sufficient. For each additional started meter, add 2 more.

Retrofit waste separation in a door cabinet
A door cabinet remains attractively priced – and you can still expand it later for waste separation. For hinged doors, there are built-in waste collectors that move with the door when opened: the lid lifts automatically, and the design is engineered so the door hinges are not put under additional strain. You mainly choose the system based on door width and mounting position (door hinge side/side panel).

Waste systems with hinged-door connection are installed in the door cabinet and open automatically when the door is opened. This keeps waste separation hidden inside the cabinet while still making it quick to access in everyday use – without putting additional strain on the door hinges.
