Nobilia hob base cabinet

A Nobilia hob base cabinet with drawer and pull-outs uses the space under the hob especially efficiently. You can store pots & pans clearly in the pull-outs. The upper drawer keeps utensils such as wooden spoons and whisks within easy reach.

Planning example: The KS2A60 is 60 cm wide and fits many standard hobs. With a 72 cm carcass, 10 cm plinth and 3.8 cm worktop, this results in a working height of 85.8 cm.

The difference lies in appliance planning. A hob base cabinet is the right base unit for an autonomous hob. The hob sits on top, and below it you use the space as storage with a shelf, drawers or pull-outs.

An oven housing cabinet is intended for a built-in oven under the worktop. The oven sits in a fixed appliance niche, and the cabinet is typically 60 cm wide. Depending on the design, there may also be a drawer underneath, for example for baking trays or accessories.

A hob base cabinet is suitable for classic hobs when the vapors are extracted via a wall hood or a hood integrated into the wall cabinet. In that case, the storage space under the hob remains fully usable.

With a downdraft hob cabinet, the steam is extracted downward. This requires space in the base cabinet and plinth area for the motor, filter and air ducting. Exhaust air or recirculated air is routed through channels in the carcass.

Important for planning: Due to the additional technology, pull-outs are often reduced in depth depending on the appliance type. In many plans, around 40 cm of usable depth then remains. The decisive factor is always the specific appliance.

A spacer shelf makes sense if you want to use a drawer directly below the induction hob. It creates the required distance from the underside of the hob, supports ventilation and acts as touch protection. This keeps the drawer practical for everyday use, and the contents are better protected from heat build-up.

For glass-ceramic and electric hobs without induction, Nobilia uses a construction shelf (KKB) depending on the cabinet type. It separates the hob area from the storage space and acts as heat protection. This keeps the drawer or pull-out under the ceramic hob reliably usable without unnecessarily transferring heat into the interior.

Important for planning autonomous hobs: The air inlet and outlet paths specified in the data sheet must remain clear. Depending on the appliance, this is done via front or plinth ventilation or via openings in the back panel. If the hob is positioned above drawers or pull-outs, the drawer height and appliance installation height should also be checked to avoid collisions.
