Nobilia wall cabinets with flap door & lift door
If you're looking for a wall cabinet with a flap door, you usually have a specific reason for it. The door opens upward, stays up, and gives you access without having to step aside or hold the door. That may sound like a small thing, but it makes a noticeable difference in everyday kitchen use. Here you'll find all Nobilia wall cabinets that work according to this principle: from the simple lift-up door to the electric Climber that opens at the touch of a button.

Filter wall cabinets by height
Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door are available in four carcass heights: 36 cm, 57.6 cm, 72 cm, and 79.2 cm. A cabinet with a height of 36 cm is especially suitable for shallow niches and can be mounted lower. The heights of 72 cm and 79.2 cm offer more storage space and suit kitchens with a larger wall area. Which height is right for your kitchen depends on the mounting height and the storage space you want. Click on a height and view the matching models directly.
Filter wall cabinets by width
Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door are available in seven widths: 45 cm, 50 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm, 90 cm, 100 cm, and 120 cm. Slim models in 45 cm or 50 cm work well above the stove or in narrow niches. Wide models from 90 cm upward are suitable as the main storage space. Which width fits your kitchen depends on the available wall space and the kitchen layout. Click on a width and view the matching models directly.
Advantages of wall cabinets with flap & lift door
All Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door are supplied with automatic concealed hinges featuring integrated soft-close damping. The door closes quietly and without assistance. For folding lift door models, Nobilia uses the Blum Aventos HF fitting, which automatically adjusts to the weight of the front panel – this matters because Nobilia fronts vary in weight depending on decor and material. In terms of appearance, every cabinet type can be combined with all current Nobilia front decors, from matte Alpine white to wood decors in oak or walnut. Handleless, with a bar handle, or with a cup handle – that choice is yours as well.

Which cabinet height is right for my kitchen?
The cabinet height affects two things at once: how comfortably you can reach the contents, and how the kitchen looks as a whole. As a rule of thumb for ergonomics, you should be able to open the cabinet and reach inside without stretching or bending down. This depends on your height, but also on how high the wall cabinet is installed. A 72 cm high cabinet offers more storage space, but sits higher on the wall. A 36 cm high cabinet can be installed lower and is easier to reach.
The effect in the room is just as important. Wall cabinets that align at the same height as the surrounding base cabinets, tall cabinets or highboards create a calm, continuous line. Different heights are not a mistake, but they should be used intentionally. If you are unsure, use the top edge of your tall cabinets as a guide and choose a wall cabinet size that continues this line or clearly sets itself apart from it.
Nobilia wall cabinets and base cabinets are coordinated with each other. A wall cabinet with a height of 72 cm harmonizes directly with a Nobilia base cabinet in standard height, while a wall cabinet with a height of 79.2 cm matches the XL base cabinet. The 57.6 cm height is particularly suitable for lower wall areas or as an addition to existing cabinets. This creates a harmonious overall look without you having to coordinate the dimensions yourself.

Cabinet types
Wall cabinets with bi-fold lift door
The bi-fold lift door is the premium solution for tall wall cabinets. Two door sections fold together when opening and glide upward – the cabinet is fully open without anything protruding into the room. Nobilia uses the Blum Aventos HF fitting with BLUMOTION soft-close function. The system automatically adapts to the weight of the front and always closes gently and quietly. The bi-fold lift door is recommended for kitchens with a clear room height of at least 230 cm.

Wall cabinets with swing flap
The swing flap opens upward while also swinging slightly forward. This makes it more flexible than a simple lift-up door and less elaborate than a bi-fold lift door. It works well in kitchens where ceiling clearance is limited or where a simple opening mechanism is desired. Automatic cup hinges with soft-close damping ensure that the flap closes securely and quietly.

Wall cabinet Climber
The Climber is a wall cabinet of a different kind. Instead of a conventional door, it has a front made of horizontal glass slats that open upward electrically at the touch of a button. No manual operation, no handle. The contents are always visible through the transparent slats, which also makes the Climber a design feature. It fits into kitchens where design and function are equally important.

Wall cabinets with flap
The simple flap is the most straightforward solution among wall cabinets with an upward-opening door. One continuous door swings upward and stays there. No complex mechanism, no electronics. Nobilia supplies these cabinets with automatic cup hinges and soft-close function, so the flap closes securely and quietly despite its simple design.

Wall cabinets with Square flap
The Square flap works like a classic lift-up door, but looks different. The design is clean-lined and geometric, with a clearly defined frame-to-panel ratio. It fits especially well in kitchens where clean shapes and a calm look take center stage. Combined with a handleless design, the Square flap creates a very sleek appearance.

Wall cabinets with bar flap
The bar flap opens downward toward the countertop, creating a small shelf directly in front of the cabinet. Glasses, bottles, or ingredients immediately have a place when opening it. This makes this cabinet type especially popular as a bar element in open-plan kitchens, where function and appearance matter equally.

Wall cabinets for microwaves
The Nobilia microwave wall cabinet is specially designed for installing a microwave. A fitted niche accommodates the appliance, and a soft-close flap closes the cabinet at the top. The front depth can be tailored depending on the microwave model. If desired, the cabinet can be supplemented with optional lighting or ordered directly as a set with a matching microwave.

Wall cabinets with drying rack & swing flap
This wall cabinet is specially designed for kitchens where drying space next to the sink is limited. An integrated metal storage rack with water collection tray allows dishes and glasses to drip dry directly inside the cabinet. The storage space remains fully usable.

Wall cabinets with iMove shelf & bi-fold lift door
The iMove shelf by Häfele is a pull-down internal shelf that lowers out of the cabinet with a light pull. Spices, pantry items, or small appliances are then within easy reach, without having to reach into the cabinet. A practical solution for deeper wall cabinets and for anyone who wants to reduce strain when reaching into upper areas.
Tip: You can find wall cabinets with door and iMove shelf here.

Fits your existing Nobilia kitchen
All Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door follow the Nobilia N144 grid. This means that every cabinet on this page fits seamlessly into an existing Nobilia kitchen, no matter when it was planned or built. Carcass dimensions, mounting systems and front decors are coordinated with each other. Anyone buying an additional single cabinet or extending their kitchen does not get a compromise product, but a part that has belonged from the very beginning.
Configuration & features
Handle variants & surface design
Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door are available in a handleless version. In this case, the cabinet bottom panel features an integrated profile strip in stainless steel look that serves as a grip area. Alternatively, bar handles and cup handles are available in various designs. All cabinet types can be combined with the current Nobilia front decors, from matte alpine white to high gloss and wood decors in oak, walnut and graphite.
Electric drive
Wall cabinets with flap door or folding lift door can optionally be equipped with an electric Servo-Drive system. Operation is via two battery-powered wireless switches integrated into the cabinet sides. The cabinet opens and closes at the push of a button, without manual effort. A sensible option for anyone who wants to take kitchen comfort to the next level.
Lighting
Nobilia wall cabinets can be equipped with an integrated LED recessed light in the cabinet top panel and cabinet bottom panel. The top panel illuminates the contents of the cabinet, while the bottom panel lights the work area below. Both versions are available as Philips Hue Spot Ambiance and can be integrated into an existing Hue system. You can see directly in the configuration which lighting option is available for your cabinet.
Tip: The Hue bottom-panel light is not available for wall cabinets with dish drainer rack.
Buying a wall cabinet with flap: what you should know beforehand
When is a flap better than a door?
Hinged doors need side clearance to swing open. Directly above the stove, against a wall, or at the end of a kitchen run, that clearance is often missing. A flap opens upward and does not require it. The work area below remains clear, even when the cabinet is open. Anyone who regularly cooks with another person in the kitchen will quickly notice this difference in everyday use.
What clearance should there be between the worktop and the wall cabinet?
Nobilia recommends a distance of 50 to 60 cm between the worktop and the wall cabinet. For wall cabinets with flap or lift door, this distance can be slightly smaller because the door opens upward and does not swing sideways into the work area. The ideal height of the wall cabinet above the worktop also depends on your height and the mounting height of the surrounding cabinets.
How much ceiling clearance do I need for a folding lift door?
For wall cabinets with folding lift door, we recommend a clear room height of at least 230 cm. The door needs about 30 to 40 cm of free space above the cabinet to open, depending on the carcass height. For a wall cabinet above the cooktop, the installation requirements of the cooktop manufacturer also apply, which may further restrict the minimum clearance above. In rooms with a clear height under 220 cm, a simple flap is the better choice.
Nobilia quality & durability
Nobilia wall cabinets with flap or lift door are tested in the company's own QM laboratory for a minimum service life of 15 years. The test robots simulate up to 80,000 opening cycles, significantly more than required by the DIN standard. The AVENTOS flap system automatically adapts to the front weight and securely holds every flap in position. Sensys hinges close softly and are maintenance-free. The wall suspension is designed for 75 kg, and each shelf supports up to 16 kg. All Nobilia cabinets carry the RAL quality mark Golden M.
