Nobilia back panel cladding for base cabinets

Why are back panel claddings useful?

Nobilia back panel claddings create a harmonious rear view in open kitchen layouts. The finishes match the cabinet carcass and worktop colors exactly. This makes the back of the cabinet look just as high-quality as the front.

They are especially practical for freestanding runs, kitchen islands, or highboards that are visible from the living area. Thanks to their low material thickness, they appear light and modern without taking up unnecessary space.

The Vario-Clip system allows for quick installation. This also makes it easy to add or replace back panels neatly at a later stage.

What is the difference between back panel claddings and end panels?

Back panel claddings cover the rear side of a cabinet, while end panels form the side finish. Both elements fulfill different functions and complement each other perfectly in open or freestanding kitchen layouts.

Back panel claddings cover the rear side of a base cabinet. They are used when the kitchen run or island stands freely in the room and the back is visible. The cladding provides a clean, decorative look and visually continues finishes and lines. Back panels are flat, non-load-bearing, and are attached using Vario-Clip.

End panels, on the other hand, finish the side parts of a base cabinet. They are used whenever the side is visible – e.g. at the end of a kitchen run, next to appliances, or at transitions to the living area. End panels are full-depth, structural, and form the lateral finish of the entire run.
