Filler panels for wall cabinets

Nobilia filler panels for wall cabinets create neat wall finishes, a harmonious line, and fit all common wall cabinet heights – 36 cm, 57.6 cm, 72 cm, 79.2 cm, and 86.4 cm. With carcass filler strips (WPK10-1), front filler panels (WPD20-1), and corner filler panels such as WPE45-58, widths, heights, and corners can be precisely adapted to uneven walls or niches.

Front filler panels for wall cabinets are constructed in a C-shape. They have a top cover and a bottom panel so that the gap is completely closed. This prevents dust from falling into the niche, and no visible opening is created from below – ideal for visible run-end finishes and a high-quality kitchen appearance. With standard front filler panels, the gap is covered from the front – but they remain open and uncovered at the top and bottom.

What are filler strips, filler panels, and corner filler panels?

Nobilia filler strips, filler panels, and corner filler panels are precise compensation elements that close gaps between wall and cabinet, connect corners, and compensate for height, depth, and width tolerances. Since walls are rarely perfectly plumb, they prevent visible joints, creeping gaps, and uneven transitions. The result: a kitchen run that looks neat, flush, and like one continuous piece of furniture.

Front filler panel vs. carcass filler panel – which should I choose?

Front filler panels are suitable for all visible areas where the front line should continue seamlessly – exactly in the front color and with a premium appearance. Carcass filler panels are the subtle, budget-friendly alternative for side wall connections in the carcass decor. They close gaps functionally, discreetly, and with a precise fit.

Front filler panels

You use front filler panels wherever the finish is visible and the front line should continue without interruption. They are made of the same material as Nobilia kitchen fronts, are 19 mm thick, and are available exactly in your front color. The integrated rubber lip compensates for small wall unevenness and ensures a neat finish.

The standard width is 20 cm. On request, you can also order front filler panels as custom-made center filler panels. These have a small attached side panel on the left and right so that you can screw the filler panel securely and precisely between two cabinets – ideal for closing central gaps with a high-quality finish.

Typical front decors include:

  • Melamine & lacquer laminate ranges: 427 Alpine White | 336 lacquer laminate, Magnolia super matte | 488 lacquer, White Premium matte

  • Lacquer & framed fronts: 467 lacquer, Sand ultra high gloss | 516 lacquer, Alpine White high gloss | 847 lacquer, Alpine White matte

  • Other ranges: 605 Coffee textured | 966 lacquer laminate, Fjord Blue ultra matte | 390 Brushed Magnolia

Thanks to this wide selection, you can order every filler panel in the front color – perfect for premium, continuous front lines without a style break.

Carcass filler panels

Carcass filler panels are the simple and budget-friendly solution for side wall connections. They are made of the same material as the Nobilia carcass, are 16 mm thick, and are available in all carcass colors. The 10 cm and 20 cm widths are cut on site to the required size. They are mounted slightly recessed and flush with the carcass, not with the front – perfect for subtle, unobtrusive finishes in less visible areas.

Typical carcass decors include:

  • Solid and gray shades: 193 Alpine White, 106 White, 070 Silk Gray, 089 Stone Gray, 194 Slate Gray, 127 Black

  • Wood decors: 078 Oak San Remo reproduction, 198 Oak Sierra reproduction, 097 Oak Havana reproduction

  • Other shades: 120 Magnolia Matte, 122 Sand, 060 Alpine White Gloss (discontinued)

This allows simple light kitchens, warm wood looks, and modern dark designs to be finished harmoniously and neatly.

What does the planning dimension mean for corner filler panels?

The planning dimension describes the unused footprint of the corner – the so-called blind corner. A regular UPE corner filler panel is always used when the adjacent cabinets are positioned so that a non-usable area of 65 × 65 cm is created behind the filler panel. This area remains empty and cannot be used for storage. Drawers and front pull-outs next to the corner remain fully functional through the use of the corner filler panel.

If your room situation differs from this planning dimension, you use a variable corner filler panel. This covers planning dimensions from 63 to 75 cm. To do this, you specify the left and right dimensions separately so that the filler panel is exactly matched to your individual kitchen plan.

Note: An increase in the planning dimension leads to an increase in the leg dimension in the same proportion. With a planning dimension of 65 x 65 cm, the leg dimension is 7 cm.

The corner dimension of 650 x 650 mm enables planning with drawers or front pull-outs next to the corner; there are no obstructions from protruding handles. Please take the respective handle height into account in your planning.

When do I use a 90° corner filler panel and when a 135° one?

You use a 90° corner filler panel in classic L-shaped kitchens when two runs meet at a right angle and the corner should remain compact. This solution creates a “blind corner,” offers no storage space, but is the most affordable entry-level option and ensures collision-free door and pull-out movement. A 135° corner filler panel is used when the corner should appear more open, beveled, or ergonomic – ideal for modern, flowing kitchens and generous walkways. It requires more space but creates a more harmonious corner design.

90° corner filler panels

You use a 90° corner filler panel when your kitchen is planned in the classic way as an L-shaped kitchen with a right angle. Two runs meet at a 90° angle, the cabinets stand parallel to the walls, and the corner should remain compact. This is the standard solution in most kitchens because it requires little space and the footprint and planning dimensions are clearly defined. With variable corner filler panels, dimension 1 describes the left planning dimension and dimension 2 the right one. This allows the lengths of the two runs in an L-shaped kitchen to be adjusted precisely.

135° corner filler panels

A 135° corner filler panel is used when the corner should appear beveled or more open – for example in open-plan kitchens, with generous walkways, or when the kitchen should look less “boxy.” The 135° angle pulls the corner forward ergonomically, appears softer, and requires more space.

FAQ

Yes, half-corner cabinets such as UES, UEBD, or UES-A are always supplied including a corner filler panel.
